After my last month rant (Newsletter 5) about your contributions to the site, I received a number of mails proposing mp3 or YouTube videos! all I asked not to provide (Newsletter 4) ! Sorry, I had no time to reply individually. May be I was too harsh in my request. I will manage by my own. Once more, I dislike YouTube videos: they are already online and readily available and are too often showing small excerpts. Whenever a file is cut into several smaller ones, the repasting of the parts is only time consuming and doesn't give good results. I am always looking for archives. I mean videos of masters of the past. You are still welcome to contribute if you so wish.

Après mon coup de gueule du mois dernier (Newsletter 5), j'ai reçu un certain nombre de mails me proposant... des mp3 ou des videos de YouTube! tout ce que j'avais demandé qu'on ne m'envoie pas (Newsletter 4). Désolé de ne pas avoir eu le temps de vous répondre individuellement. J'ai sans doute été trop rude dans ma requête. Je me débrouillerai seul. Une fois encore, je n'aime pas les videos de YouTube: d'abord, elles sont dors et déjà en ligne et disponibles et sont souvent trop brèves en ne montrant que de courts extraits. Quand un fichier plus long est coupé en plusieurs morceaux, le reconstituer prend trop de temps et donne souvent de très mauvais résultats. Je recherche des archives. Je veux dire par là des videos des grands maîtres du passé. Vous êtes bien entendu les bienvenus si vous pouvez contribuer.

J'ai besoin d'un retour, donc de vos commentaires (rubrique "comments" en bas de l'article) pour savoir si l'écriture en hindi apparait sur votre écran dans l'article "Writing Hindi (Devanagari script) in Joomla (FR-EN)". En principe, si vous n'avez pas bidouillé le système de votre ordi (Mac, PC) pour l'alléger des polices non usitées, cela devrait fonctionner puisqu'elles sont incluses par défaut. SVP, dites-moi si ça marche ou pas (vous aurez alors des horribles carrés à la place des lettres hindi). Si cela fonctionne, cela me permettra d'écrire des mouvements mélodiques de rags et des gats, en hindi.

I need your help regarding an article I wrote 

"Writing Hindi (Devanagari script) in Joomla (FR-EN)". Kindly tell me whether it works or not (in this last case, you will see horrible squares instead of the hindi fonts). If you didn't remove unused fonts from your OS (let it be Mac or PC) it should function alright and show them on screen. If it works for the majority, that will allow me to write melodic movements and gats in hindi. Please, do write  in "Comments", at the bottom of the article, just to tell me that. Thanks in advance.

Once I had a dream: I would really love Indian & Pakistani registered users, who mainly come to the site for Indian Music, to also listen to jazz posts and browse around. On the other hand, people who come to the site for anything else should also go to indian music section and click on audio and video posts. Web is a great place to discover new things we never thought of. Keep your curiosity alive! Transversality is the word!
